During the week of the 19th until the 23rd of Mach 2013, 7 schools from different
countries visited our school. Selected students from grades 8-10 looked after a guest
student during this time.
Through the partnership of different countries, we were prepared on Tuesday 19th
March to greet foreign students from Czech Republic, Turkey, Greece, Romania, Spain,
Martinique and Portugal.
On Wednesday we had the first meeting with the guest pupils, wherein calendar work
took place. In the afternoon there was a visit to a Monastery in Ilsenburg. Wednesday
evening was the official part of the day when all of the foreign students were greeted
by the Mayor of Ilsenburg.
On Thursday the second meeting took place and afterwards students from each school
gave a presentation. After this the host families spent the afternoon with the guest
students and could freely choose what they wanted to do. Many of the showed the students
the town of Wernigerode.
On Friday morning we met each other at the Berghotel in Ilsenburg and from there
we went on a hike to the border crossing at the Eckertal. After our hike in the snow,
the guest students took the bus around the Harz and saw the Rappbodetalsperre, among
other things too.
On Saturday we travelled together to Berlin, to show our guests our capital city.
The following day we all travelled back to our home towns.
