Comenius – Trip to Barcelona
As part of the European Union funded Comenius Project 7 schools made a return visit to Barcelona, Spain from the 20th to the 25th of January 2014. After a comfortable flight we were warmly greeted in the airport by the Spanish host families.
The topic of this meeting was ‘Myths and Legends in the regions of our hometowns’.
All participating 8 schools had to give a presentation in English on Comenius Day. It is also tradition to offer typical regional products. Our Baumkuchen, Hallorenkugeln, Brockensplitter and Harzer Tröpfchen were all popular.
The Spanish hosts had prepared an interesting and varied program. We were given a city tour of La Rabmla, the bustling main street of the city and we also visited La Sagrada Familia, which is an extremely impressive church designed by the Spanish artist Antonio Gaudi.
One day we also visited a wine-
We were very impressed when we travelled Costa Brava and subsequently visited the museum of Salvadore Dalie. We were especially fascinated by the versatility of the artist.
However, of most importance is that the students of all countries got on well with each other and are determined to keep in contact with each other.
